Current Position
Mackenzie joined TCEQ’s Region 5 Office in Tyler as a Natural Resource
Specialist for the Small Business and Local Government Assistance (SBLGA)
Section in 2019.
Prior Experience and Education
Mackenzie attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in
2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geosciences and a minor in
Oceanography. Following graduation Mackenzie moved to the East Coast to
work for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a
Fisheries Observer tracking fish stocks from North Carolina to Massachusetts.
After finishing her contract with NOAA in 2018, Mackenzie moved back to
Texas and worked for an Oil & Gas company as a lab tech before finding her
way back to the conservation/preservation side of environmental work.
